Christmas was always such a special time when I was growing up. Big family dinner at my grandparents house with all my cousins, aunts and uncles. I learned so much from watching my grandma , aunts, great aunts and my mom . They made everything from scratch and it was all so amazing. The dessert table was as big as the table the food was on. No one could make candy, cakes and pies like this group of women. That sparked a love of baking in me that still burns bright. I love to watch the smiles on people’s faces when they eat one of the treats I have made. Yes my business is small, but that’s the way I like it. I want to be able to make a connection with each person that comes through that door. I’ve learned a lot , grown and conquered doubts. I still have work to do and more growth is needed but I will get there. The biggest lesson has been to just enjoy each season. I believe that God puts people in our lives for a reason. Some are for us to love and some are for us to learn. It has definitely been more learning the past two years than love. I sit here looking at this tree and what it represents. Every ornament has a memory attached, nothin matches and it’s definitely not the latest style. No fancy ribbons or bows but it brings more joy than you could imagine. Take a deep breath and savor the beautiful memories, make those traditional recipes and have a very Merry Christmas from all of us here.
